Good Morning Crafters,
A couple weeks ago one of my new friends Carol asked if I wanted to take part in this “Unique Blog Hop” and of course I said yes!! but when it came time to prepare for this post, I started getting nervous and of course intimidated because I had never taken part in one of these before, but I got over it and here I am and there you are reading this post 🙂 so let me go ahead and introduce my self, My Name is Valentina, I am from Glendale, CA, 33, and a mother of two. My love for paper crafting began when I was a little girl, paper, stamps, crayons, markers, stickers and craft stuff used to get me excited and till this day I still get excited over paper, stamps and ink, That is why I became a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator, So I can share my love of paper crafting with you. If you would like to check out Carols awesome post from last week go right ahead, she is a pretty awesome crafter.
As part of the HOP we are asked a series of questions to kinda give you an idea of who we are and why we do what we do.
The first question is…
“WHAT AM I WORKING ON”
well I am actually working on lots of projects, since I hold various classes throughout the week, I am constantly trying to come up with new projects or watching videos on YouTube and making the projects my own. But at this particular moment I am working on a recipe book and some holiday invitations. Holiday Bazzarr and Boutiques are coming up so I am also getting ready for those..lot’s of work, but I love every bit of it!!
THIS IS THE RECIPE BOOK I AM MAKING, THESE ARE THE PAGES THAT ARE DONE
THESE ARE THE HOLIDAY INVITATIONS I AM WORKING ON
Second question is…
” HOW DOES MY WORK DIFFER FROM OTHERS IN THE GENRE”
I am not sure if it really does differ from the others in the paper crafting world, because we all have our own styles and techniques, some of us use stamps, some are into mixed media, some are into scrap-booking, and so on, but we all share the same love which is paper 🙂 I think the only way I may differ from the rest of the paper crafters is that when I am creating, and I get an idea for another project, I have to make it as so as I am thinking about it, so you can imagine how my work area looks, but who knows, maybe the rest of the paper crafting world is nuttier than I am…lol it’s ok to be nuts, after-all we love paper… lol.
Third question is…
“WHY DO I CREATE WHAT I DO”
Because this is who I am, I love paper, embellishments, stamps, and stuff…lol If I didn’t create I wouldn’t be being true to myself. Paper crafting is my relaxation, some people garden, knit, clean, or take walks to relax but I CREATE. There was a sign that I seen and it totally describes why I do what I do, and I will share it with you because I am sure a lot of you can relate.
Fourth question is….
“HOW DOES MY CREATIVE PROCESS WORK AND HOW DO I GET AND STAY INSPIRED”
Well as far as how my creative process works…sometimes it doesn’t..lol like just the other day I was at my desk trying to come up with some designs for Holiday Cards, but for some reason it was so hard, I made 4 different cards, but I was not happy with any of them, I then turned to Pinterest and You-Tube but it didn’t help, so instead of getting frustrated, I got up from my desk and had to walk away so I ended up watching previously recorded shows of Big Brother that I had missed…lol I still haven’t given it another try but I will, so for those of you who have experienced the same thing, some times you just have to walk away!! lol
My inspirations come from many things, like I said I watch a lot of great crafters on YouTube and see some pretty cool things on Pinterest or Etsy, and I will either make them my own or create something totally different. I stay inspired because this is what I love to do, I lay in bed thinking about projects and “what will I make tomorrow” or “what if I used these dimensions” or “No that box would be a cute treat holder” lol I am constantly thinking and that is how I stay inspired.
I have chosen 3 very talented paper crafters who will be sharing with you next Monday, September 8, I know you will enjoy as much as I do!
